My group mate and I had to make moved board during the class. This is our moved board. We all decided, fashion(styling) emphasis shape and silhouette. and the surroundings are colourful. Also while we were creating stylings, It was becoming Japanese style. So decided silhouette of styling is Japanese style and use less colour (like black and white) and make contrast between person and surroundings.
Henri Matisse
I really like his collage. Think about what is different between Picasso of Cubism and Matisse. Collage of Cubism is innovate to reality(like newspaper, photography etc...) from outside. So Collage was the one of the means of serendipity. However Matisse collage is each colour paint by themselves which make more clear colour. The reason why he stopped drawing and change his style was his ill. but I more prefer his collage to his drawings. Collage makes unique space even it is 2D. (actually I can say it's between 2D and 3D)
William H. Johnson
I really like his way of using the colour. Yellow, Blue, Green make strong contrast of the others.
Denmark
There are the many colourful houses in Denmark. Also there are lots of colourful interior in Denmark. It is because they have long winter in a year and literally November to February, you cannot see sunlight at all. So put lots of colour inside of the house and make our heart warm as much as possible.
Frank Gehry Panama Biodiversity museum
This is interesting. Frank Gehry design such a weird architecture but actually It fits surrounding. and I can see this is in Panama from the colour. Colour express the country, culture. also I really like the contrast between nature and this architecture .

What I am really interested in his work about the way of using flashing lights, vibrant colours. The video is about the main character skippy leak out he is gay to his family and he had to leave his home and he tried to suicide. But he was helped by people who had same situation as him. When he made this film was 2004. It was transition perioda period of Sexual Minority in USA. Some people started getting understand. however most of the people are prejudiced against of it.He stem the tide of public opinion and changed it through his work. It is not about crazy colour, action, video technique. It is more about what he wants to tell through his work.
Guy Bourdin
Guy Bourdin, born in Paris in 1928, was one of the most radical and influential fashion photographers of the twentieth century. His unique blend of surreal and erotic imagery filled the pages of international magazines such as French Vogue during the 1970s and became synonymous with Charles Jourdan’s revolutionary advertising campaigns. Rejecting the typical ‘product’ shot in favour of staging unsettling mise en scene that hint at consumption, sex and desire, his photographs sought to shock and ignite the viewer’s curiosity.

I really like his work because It reminds me back surrealism from image construction and colour, also model's posing. Also his photography always tells story. I cannot tell what particular he wants to say but there is complicated story in photography but he doesn't expect viewers understand what he wants to tell. So I as viewer can guess and make our own story through his photography which is very fun. Also his photography is kinds of fantasy.I mean unreality. Cloth, make-up, the thing you wear, the thing surround you lead to the place which is fantasy. That's why It is obvious to see that cloth is one of the content on his photography even photography don't look like reality. Inspired by a lot how he use cloth which is one of the content on his work.
Ryan Mcginley
Ryan McGinley is an American photographer living in New York City. McGinley began making photographs in 1998. In 2003, at the age of 25, he was one of the youngest artists to have a solo show at the Whitney Museum of American Art. He was also named Photographer of the Year in 2003 by American Photo Magazine.
The characteristic of his photography is using beautiful landscape and using the colour contrast. He said that we cannot control weather and nature. If there are lots of things which cannot control at the same time, miracle occurs. Art is born. He never taken and create something he had plan before he took shooting. He said He really plan before shooting all the time, but also enjoy to try other thing he didn't plan. It is because always Miracle picture needs real energy which is weather, relationship between person and person etc. This is very important as an art director. I as art director always have to make perfect plan before photoshoot It is because I have to work with other people and share what I am thinking about. But also have to be tender. and have to play the situation I unexpected. Also the interesting thing is how he plays 4 season though photography.(nature,color...)Nature is very useful tool as a colour.

The amazing thing is her photography is no editing at all. When development, she does control the colour level however she doesn't edit on digital at all. I want to learn how I can change and create colour when I development the photographic film. The reason why I like her photography is I can feel that she wants to tell to viewers that criticism of modern society which is a sense of alienation, isolation from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Also her photography is not only portrait but lots of flower which express the criticism of exploitation of animal which except human and human's reification. There is a museum near from my parent house in Tokyo and there are her work in there and I often went there when I was in Japan. When I see her photography from far away, It is kinds of abstraction and something's going on the photography but If I am close to it, suddenly this bright colour heart my eyes and my eyes are getting blind. and I can only see dots(pixcel) on her photography. Again I will say this expresses animal's reification in modern society. very intense. Everything have meaning why she using this kinds of colour, the way of take photography. I also want to think about them before take photoshoot.
Hassan Hajjaj
Turning to photography in the late 80s, Hajjaj is a master portraitist, taking studio portraits of friends, musicians, and artists, as well as strangers from the streets of Marrakech, often wearing clothes designed by the artist. These colorful and engaging portraits combine the visual vocabulary of contemporary fashion photography and pop art, as well as the studio photography of African artist Malick Sidibe, in an intelligent commentary on the influences of tradition in the interpretations of high and low branding and the effects of global capitalism

He said that he was born in Morocco and live in Marrakech, and London so wherever he is in, he is foreigner. That's why he has to find some place which he can be comfortable. He made the place he can be comfortable in the other country by himself through photography. Since I was child, I moved many time and be in different other country. I think I was comfortable to be in other country rather than stay and be in Tokyo forever. That's more depress for me but also I miss Japan some times. I can learn from him, what can I make the place I feel comfortable through my art work? He said in Morocco, they usually wear traditional dress which is very colourful in daily life. For example, in Western country, if men wear gown, everyone think he has feminine style or he wears dress... However in Morocco, It's normal. and always he thinks when he takes photography, how to capture this culture gap through photography. One of the reason why I like him is he imports the concept of viewpoint of western from traditional of Morocco. This way of thinking is very useful for me to get inspiration to my work. That's why he uses lots of clothes of Louis Vuitton. Using Louis Vuitton which is very obvious to see western clothes and tell to viewer, "he imports the concept of viewpoint of western".
Ophelie Rondeau
Ophelie Rondeau is a film photographer based in Berlin, and the founder & curator of Curated by GIRLS. She shot this series for the launch of the website, in order to demonstrate what the platform believes in : equality. Pink is not just for girls. Pink is for boys too.
Her photography is very unadorned however camera capture beautiful colour contrast. Also I like characteristic of continuity and symmetry and nostalgic. Also her photography is always viewpoint of female gaze. Her photography tell to viewers that female empowerment and the beauty of freedom. It is not about look pretty, lot of colour... She put her irony of gender problem through photography. She said about gender problem, we all know there is gender problem from long time ago however lot of thing is still unsolved. Also now It is becoming to trend to be feminist and share some experiment to be feminist on SNS. What can she do now today? She said We only should think about how much you love by yourself, live as you want to live. Just respect ourselves and admit you are exist. and more focus on one's personality. That's why her photography is not only women as a model but men as well even her photography is always from female's gaze. really like how she put her way of thinking to photography through model's attitude and colour.

Ari has a longtime interest in clothing and style and a lifelong affinity for his elders. When he was growing up, his late grandmother Bluma (a librarian) was his best friend; her “energy and attitude towards life” continue to inspire him. Think about how can I tell the story through styling. I think she is one of good example. She said styling is a certain sparkle, a specific passion for life and personal expression. I think the quality that unites them is their vitality. They constantly look forward instead of looking back; they are open to new opportunities, excited about future adventures, and passionate about squeezing as much joy and creativity out of each moment as possible. when I saw her styling for the first time, I was wondering her life, why she chose this colour, what is her personality.

I really like the colour contrast between background and skin and cloth. Even the colour is not bright, actually the colour is first impression when I saw this for the first time. Also I really like this weird and scary mood.

As I saw one of his styling of another magazine 2003, he is one of my favourite stylist. I really like how he plays the colour through photography. not only fashion(styling). and also not over too much fashion and reality but It's mysterious.
